The Festival of Food and Wine began on 22nd January for seven days, and once again the event excelled itself beyond all our expectations, a complete sell-out and a week long pleasure of pure indulgence into our OBSESSION – FOOD AND WINE.

Why did you choose this dish? - “Cheese and Onion Pie is a classic Lancashire dish and so popular at the pub.”

Judges comments - “Faultlessly executed”, “A very good pub dish”, “Rustic, simple and a good portion.”

Richard was also a finalist for the overall Pub Chef of the Year, and the Three Fishes was the regional winner for the North West.

LISA ALLEN – HEAD CHEF OF NORTHCOTE MANOR THROUGH TO REGIONAL FINAL OF THE ROUX SCHOLARSHIP

Lisa Allen with Michel Jnr Looking onWe are delighted that Lisa has successfully received a place in the regional final of Roux Scholarship 2007. Lisa will be asked to prepare and present her recipes in cook-offs on 8th March, where the judges will be looking for imaginative use of the ingredients provided.

The Roux Scholarship is undoubtedly considered the ultimate British competition for chefs.

Andy and his team have been working closely with Thwaites brewery to ensure we succeed in offering great quality cask beers. Their hard work has now been rewarded.

The scheme is operated by an independent body called Cask Marque Trust.
