...they're back!
Matthew Fort, Prue Leith and Oliver Peyton And, we’re delighted that Nigel will be championing his Northern roots This year the chefs will be competing for the chance to cook a fantastic four-course dinner to be held in June, at the top of the iconic Gherkin building in London. The host is a chef who is responsible for putting contemporary British cooking on the global culinary map – Heston Blumenthal – and his guests will include top chefs from around the world along with gourmets and celebrities who represent a cross section of modern Britain. This year the series will kick off with seven special programmes in which Great British menu judge, Matthew Fort, travels around the UK, selecting chefs who will go through to represent their region in the competition. If Nigel is successful, he will then be featured in May in the national final, when the winning dishes will be put forward for public vote, we will of course keep you posted with Nigel’s progress. The series begins on Monday 17th March on BBC 2 at 6.30pm Nigel will be cooking: • Seared Salmon, Shrimps and Samphire Toast, • Loin of Bowland Hare, Potato wrapped Black Pudding, The judges are looking for a Chef who sources the best ingredients from their local area and in the national finals will be asked to create a starter, a fish course, a meat course and a dessert that they believe truly epitomises the very best of contemporary, cutting edge British cooking – in our opinion – that can only be “yours truly – Mr Haworth!” If Nigel is successful, he will then be featured in May in the national final, For more information on the Great British Menu visit the BBC website: |
