Trophee de la Meilleure Carte des Vins de ChampagneThe Trophee Gosset Celebris competition shortlist has been announced, with only two London restaurants making it through to the final 15 after the first round of judging. Battling it out in the next round will be: The Almeida, London; The Bath Priory; The Bell at Skenfrith; The Box Tree in Ilkley; Brockencote Hall near Kidminster; Chewton Glen in New Milton; The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne; The Harrow at Little Bedwyn; Hotel du Vin in Tunbridge Wells; Knockingham Lodge near Portpatrick; Northcote Manor near Blackburn; The Peat Inn in Fife; Putney bridge Restaurant London; Seaham Hall in County Durham; and Winteringham Fields in Lincolnshire.

This year the entry criteria were widened to allow any venue serving champagne with fine food to compete. For the past four years the competition has focused on a different sector of the on-trade each year (last year was gastro-pubs, won by The Inn at Whitewell).

The results will be announced at a lunch in London on 27 September, and the winning establishment will visit Champagne as guests of Beatrice Cointreau, CEO of Champagne Gosset.
